Quickstone's Bloodhound Ranger is pretty fun

This is a quick build for Frontier of Eberron: Quickstone's Bloodhound Ranger. I actually like Keith Baker, so for the first time on TattooTechnician.Blogpiss.Com, I actually recommend buying the book if you can.

Overview: Bloodhound firstly makes Hunter's Mark actually worth casting by making it deal double or triple damage and sometimes be able to use it without requiring any action with Ley Line Tracker. Much better is its Unwavering Attention letting it make an OA once per turn rather than round, which is the main feature this build will build around. Do read these features in their entirety carefully before continuing with this build.

This is a quick build I'm writing on my phone, so lower your expectations, please. Not gonna write every feature, not every spell, not even doing the color-subclass-features thing I of mine.

Familiar yourself with how Echo works in the Ghostlance build by TTB.

 Character creation

Specie: Custom Lineage (Magic Initiate: Wizard for Shield, Blade Ward, and Prestidigitation or whatever other utility cantrip you fancy). We want both this and Alert, so we're picking CL. We pick CL over Human since this build won't be the Musician of the group and thus we don't value Human's Heroic Inspo every SR more than Darkvision.

BG: Arcana, Acrobatics, Tool best for magic item crafting for your party, Alert.

Bloodhound 1-5

Consider starting with Fighter for Con over Dex prof.

Skills: Nature, Stealth, Perception. Get Expertise in Nature and Perception.

Spells: Hunter's Mark, Goodberry, Absorb Elements, PWT, Alarm are the highlights. Yes, this sub makes HM worth uttering. Don't cast Hold Person.

Bloodhound's stuff: What we need to do is find a way to see a creature and/or get an object from them to trigger this as often as possible so that we can pre-cast HM unless we need to pre-cast PWT. We can't get the OA remotely consistently for now.

Feat: CBE.

Strat: Shoot with your Hand Xbow, use Dagger for Nick if we need our BA free. Use mundane items, and remember that HM is actually decent since it's 2d6 as opposed to 1d6.

Echo Knight 1-3

What we're here for is the OA's. This lets us deal a good chunk of damage in combination with Unwaring Attention due to having more than one OA per turn. The other Fighter stuff is really nice too.

What you wanna do now is seldomly not have your Echo up. Have your Echo hold a Whip to be able to Ghostlance as many creatures as possible in the 5x5 Cube of OA pain.

Thief x

Surprise: it's a DSnAt build, bud. We take Thief for Thief stuff, but definitely do consider AT. We have an slightly-above-average Attack action paired with multiple OA's to get the most out of SnAt. Remember that you can Action Surge to Ready the Attack action for one more proc of SnAt when you reach the Rogue level that will make the SnAt deal more damage than the 2nd Attack. Calc this yourself (or ask me nicely).
