Soul Shift: a 2024 DSS/Lunar build

This build uses 2024 sorc's additional spell slots with DSS to attempt to make up for how hard sorc's been nerfed due to Aberrant and Clock getting nerfed and sorc's dip options getting a lot worse. It won't succeed; you're even moreso nearly objectively worse than wizard in 2024 due to sorc getting nerfed where it was unique and buffed where it's not. You're still an arcane fullcaster, so you're still broken, just not in a way that can do anything to touch wizard.   Tech used:  Consult my tech glossary on the following: Suggestion Suffocation SG/CWB reprocs  Fey-Touched Gift of Alacrity Conjure Animals/Conjure Celestial movement    Character Creation Specie:  Dhampir (Stealth and Perception) for bite critfishing for an initiative boost. If you need the crafting versatility, pick Shadar-Kai instead.   Background:  Acrobatics and Nature, tool best for magic item crafting for your party, Alert.   Stats:  9 Str/13+1 Dex/14 Con/8 Int/13 Wis...

I made Gladiator Fighter good

All of this is intentionally stronger than every martial subclass combined (except maybe if Techo Knight is allowed). While reading this, remember that this game features spells. Level 3: Brutality When you deal damage with a melee weapon, you can put your training of bloodsport into practice to apply one Brutality Effect you know to it.  Learning Brutality Effects :  You know a number of Brutality Effects equal to half your Fighter level (round up). Choose them, and choose another whenever you can learn an additional Brutality Effect. You can change your choices whenever you finish a Long Rest.  Glory :  Brutality Effects have a Glory option, which you can enable on top of the regular effect. You can use a Glory a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier, and regain all expended uses when you finish a Short or Long Rest. When you use your Action Surge feature, you can use the Glory option of any Brutality Effects you use without expending uses of this ...

Tattoo Tech guide, or: how to make Planar Binding look like a small skirmishing group

I've detailed what Tattoo Tech is in my tech glossary post . However, I thought it'd be good to talk about how game-breaking this tech really can be by rating a few options which is usable with it.  Artificer can have cantrip and lv 1 tats as infusions. The 2024 Arti UA can also get tats of the highest available level, lv 5, eventually. In 2024, you can also easily craft tats (Rare tats will take a while, however). For the purpose of this build, I'll assume that tats of up to lv 1 are readily available, lv 2 techs pretty common in 2024, and lv 4 and 5 tats very intensive. Therefore, lower-leveled tats will be viewed more favorably than higher leveled tats, and especially Rare tats will have to put in work to be rated highly.  I copied FoD's rating system, since I like it  I will be using a 6-point rating system, ranking each option a number out of 6. The criteria for this ranking are as follows: 1 – options rated 1 are abysmal. They are weak to the extent of b...

Glossary of tech & A proposal for ranks of tech

Image
This article will attempt to define tiers of tech use for both editions, similar to TTB's standards of optimization article , and be as complete as possible of a glossary of tech for either or both editions (with Siltech excluded- we'll get to that). I want to quickly communicate what tech I'm going for in any situation where that matters, and I want to make a consolidated list of tech to redirect readers to so that I don't have to explain it or link an explanation in every post of mine.   This is a living article, and one that will never be complete: I encourage you to leave a comment or ping me in any of the Discord optimization servers I'm in (TTB, Form of Dread, Pack Tactics, 2024 Optimization Guides) with mid-high tech or lower that's not included here. Everything here is me mostly scouring TTB, FoD, bootbrew, Moon Knight and using my own memory. Also ping me if I fuck up the alphabetical ordering.   These tiers measure the impact,  but not the obscurity,  ...
